Senior Breakfast and Senior Awards

Seniors recognized for their performance

On Friday, May 17 (graduation eve), Central Catholic held its annual tradition of bestowing awards and recognition on Seniors at Senior Breakfast. Held at the Petroleum Club in Morgan City, Senior Breakfast was attended by Seniors and their families. Also in attendance were Central Catholic Grades 6 to 12  Principal, Pete Boudreaux,  Senior Class Advisor, Mrs. Constance Wallace, School Counselor, Mrs. Karen Tycer, Athletic Director, Ree Case and various award and scholarship presenters.


Senior Breakfast Awards include academic award such as Valedictorian Awards and Honor Graduate awards as well as Athletic Awards.  Awards that recognize students for outstanding moral character , citizenship, service and Catholic Christian discipleship were also awarded.


This year, select Seniors were awarded scholarships from many local foundations and organizations including East St. Mary Kiwanis, Miles Liner Foundation, H & B Young Foundation, MC Bank, and the Atchafalaya Lodge Fraternal Order of Police. These scholarships were the final presentations of the morning.


Congratulations to the award and scholarship recipients and to all members of the Class of 2024. Job well done!

American Legion Boys State is among the most respected and selective educational programs for high school students. Student participants not only learn about Louisiana’s political system, but they are given the opportunity to work closely with local and state officials.

THE VITALANT HIGH SCHOOL HEROES (REPRESENTED BY THE PURPLE AND ORANGE CORD)

Vitalant would like to recognize and celebrate high school donors and their service to the community through blood donation. Seniors qualifying for this cord at minimum had to donate blood two times within their senior year.

2024 KWBJ SHINING STARS

In 2009, KWBJ TV Station in Morgan City created a new award to showcase those seniors who have continuously exemplified a positive attitude while contributing their time and talents during their career at Central Catholic High School.

WENDY’S HIGH SCHOOL HEISMAN AWARD

The High School Heisman celebrates the achievements of the nation’s top high school seniors both in and out of the classroom.

THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS 4TH DEGREE PATRIOTIC AWARD

Each year the Knights of Columbus present a patriotic medallion to a high school senior who represents the ideals of patriotism in school, community, and church.

THE LOUIS J “BILLY” ADAMS MEMORIAL AWARD

THE LOUIS J “BILLY” ADAMS MEMORIAL AWARD was instituted by the late Mr. L.T. Ozio and Mrs. Ozio. It is presented annually to the graduating senior who has exemplified high Christian Catholic principles, has performed outstanding service to the school and fellow students, and has excelled in the quality of dependability.

AMERICAN LEGION SCHOOL AWARD AND SCHOLARSHIP

THE AMERICAN LEGION SCHOOL AWARD AND SCHOLARSHIP is presented to the graduating senior deemed most worthy of the high qualities of character, scholarship, leadership, courage, and service.

Mario Lopez Service Award

THE MARIO LOPEZ SERVICE AWARD is presented to the graduating senior male and senior female students who have exhibited outstanding service to school and community.  They must exemplify strong leadership skills and have a 3.0 or higher academic average.

National Honor Society Members

National Honor Society Members are inducted within the Fall of the junior year. Membership into the National Honor Society is based upon high academic requirements. Each student must maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA to continue membership.

National Beta is the nation’s largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America. National Beta is committed to recognizing high academic achievement, rewarding and nurturing worthy character, fostering leadership skills and encouraging service to others.

SCHOLARSHIP SECTION

Laurielle Bias was offered the Academic Dean Scholarship at Dillard University.


Miley Bruni has accepted the Out-of-State Admissions Scholarship from the University of Alabama.


Ava Claire Calais was offered an athletic scholarship in both volleyball and track and field at Spring Hill College.


Ava Claire Calais was offered an athletic scholarship for track at the University of South Alabama.


Ava Claire Calais was offered the Catholic High School Academic Scholarship at Christian Brothers University.


Ava Claire Calais was offered an Athletic Scholarship in track at William Penn University.


Ava Claire Calais has signed a national letter of intent to continue her athletic career in both volleyball and track and field at Nicholls State University.


Brandon Cordero has accepted the Nicholls State University Academic Honor Scholarship.


Jacob Duval was offered the Cypress Scholarship at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.


Jacob Duval has accepted the Teche Growers Association 4-H Scholarship.


Jacob Duval has accepted the Scott Foundation 4-H Scholarship.


Jacob Duval has accepted the Outstanding Student Scholarship Award from Louisiana Tech University.


Charlie Ann Fuhrer has signed a national letter of intent to continue her track and field career at Nicholls State University.


Alexa Laubach was offered the Nicholls State University Academic Honor, Housing, and Valedictorian Scholarships.


Alexa Laubach was offered the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Cypress Scholarship.

Alexa Laubach has accepted the Academic Scholars Award, the Pelican Promise Scholarship, the Tiger Excellence Resident Award, the Student Excellence Grant, and the LA Tiger Legacy Superior Award from Louisiana State University.


Alexa Laubach was also offered the President’s Student Aid Job at Louisiana State University.


Madison Simmons has accepted the Tiger Excellence Scholars Resident Award and an Academic Merit Scholarship from Louisiana State University.
